This southern Belle was determined to pave a way for herself in the highly competitive hair industry. After Graduating from Dudley’s beauty college she knew it was time to level up and turn her passion into paychecks. After taking a leap of faith, and moving to New York City, this innovative beauty mogul began her career as a celebrity hair stylist at the world renowned Rita Hazan Salon that has serviced many reputable names such as Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez just to name a few.

Nafisah mastered the art of hair glam through her experience, specializing in a diverse array of extension applications such as Traditional Sew-Ins, Hand-Tied Weft Extensions, Tape-Ins, Micro-bead Extensions, and full Lace Wigs. With an arsenal of talent, Nafisah decided it was time to take her talents back to her hometown.

She turned her experience into profit, launched her own hairline Pyara Hair and has re-branded and re-opened The Salon Raleigh, By Nafisah Carter. Currently, Nafisah travels nationally and internationally and has services a wide range of celebrity clientele such as R&B sensation TinaShe, Destiny’s Child Alumni Michelle Williams, and Erica Mena, among others.

Nafisah currently serves as a resident hairstylist for major events such as Black Girls Rock, The BET Experience, and Black Hair Australia; with her appearing in major media outlets such as Harper’s Bazaar, POPSUGAR, ELLE, ESSENCE, Marie Claire, Paper Magazine, American Salon, Modern Salon, and more.
